It's hard to believe that we are starting a brand new year. I hope that you are truly blessed in 2010. I hope you have been enjoying these sketch challenges.

I have posted this month's sketch below. Once again, the sketch is from Becky Fleck of Pagemaps (http://www.pagemaps.com). She is an incredibly talented sketch artist, be sure to check out her site for more inspiration.

Chris has created a few cutter files to help us in completing this project.

The only rule for this challenge is to use the sketch to create..... That's all. Super easy!

Oh My!

I love this, and you know, I took the next 2 months off to work on Wedding stuff.

Dont pass out y'all, but if I do this layout, in wedding paper for the album, that counts as wedding stuff right, LOL.

I think I might just try and do it, I haven't done a layout in a few years. Wish me luck on this one, It should be easy with the file Chris provided. Thanks Chris.

Have to work on it when she is as work so its a surprise.

And you know, I love Becky Fleck sketches, when I started scrapbooking I thought I was going to be a scrapper so printed out over 600 of her maps and make a book, but them went and printed all the tags and cards and I do those now. So this is perfect.

The little circles are tight cuts. I test cut out of thin paper so keep that in mind, but I really liked the multi photo box and thought it would be good for just the Christmas past photos because everyone usually has many of those. and/or good for the front of a valentine day card if you could rig it and put pictures in the front of your loved one. or of the places you "love" together and replace the circles with hearts. just ideas... :-)

Thank you Rosalie for hosting again!

You are very welcome, it keeps me scrapping as well. I was even thinking how easy it would be to rotate this layout and use vertical photos. Lots of room for a really big cut, embellished title.... Super flexible sketch. Great choice. :-)

I had a little time today and could not decided how to use it. So, I decided to try and accomplish several things at once.
1. Get a sample made for the January sketch - Completed
2. Finish my mom's 2010 Calendar - only 2 months to go. Maybe if I wait, I won't have to complete January's page.... ;)
3. Figure out how to import some of Chris's files to Photoshop elements. - done.
4. Grow my digital skills- making progress.

This is multi-tasking to the extreme. :D

Here's my sample and the photoshop template I made with the sketch. I am still learning, so any thoughts on the template would be great.

I am having a little trouble getting the psd file to upload. I will try it again later.

Looks Awesome to me.

You did a great job on that.

Im so behind on that digital thing, if I ever get caught up on stuff, I want to try it.

Thanks for posting.

Im slowly getting to this sketch, We have all month right?

zip the psd file. I don't think I have psd as an option cause the files are so huge. Do you have the different colors on layers. I always find that most helpful when it comes to the gray layouts. just thoughts. :-)

Looooks awesome!

The PSD zipped is 2.13 MB. Everytime I try to upload it, the site gives me a database error.

You might have to upload the zip to a file hosting site, like Mediafire (http://www.mediafire.com) or 4Shared (http://www.4shared.com) and then provide the link here.

Looks great !

Anyway, attached is the LO and I used Darcys girly girl file and the notebook page from the sketch file. I love the way it turned out.

Woo Hoo! I finally finished my first layout in almost 2 years.

I never would of made it with out this great sketch (Becky Fleck sketches are my favorite) and Chris's awesome file. This now gives me the ideas to do some more of these sketches and make some files to get the album done.

I altered the Note book paper file a little and made it a closed spine, made 2 of them, one smaller then the other, then used ribbon to lace the spine to make it 2 pages for journaling.

I also made several of the embellishments and cut one in half and glued to the front and one to the back then together, to make it a decorative tab for the first page. With a half pearl in the center.

I made a few extra in different sized, and matted them with pop dots.

The back paper is really shinny from DCWV Luxury pack, and Bazzill, and Bazzill Bling in glass slipper. Because the paper is shinny, I couldnt use the flash, so the pics are a little dark.

I also used my file for my weekly challenge this week, Using my knk to cut the file, and used Justrite stampers wedding ensemble to stamp it. I have info on how I did that on my blog.

I love how this turned out, cant wait for the for next months sketch challenge.

Thanks every one. It actually felt good to get some thing completed. I have a hard time working with pictures. So with these not having any, I just might be able to get it done.

My daughter loved it, Which is a good thing, That girl is so picky. I fell in love with that DCWV luxury pack, the papers all have a shimmer to them, and the colors are pretty muted. The stack has 4 colors. Blue and White, Pink and White, Brown and cream and Sage and Cream. So I bought 2, and just took out the Pinks and Blues. So I have plenty of pages to do the whole album.

Now have to find a really nice album to put them in, right now, they are in page sleeves.

Here's mine. I also posted it on the CT Blog.

Files used:
VDC January Challenge file;
VDC Paint Diva (CD00350), I cut the Paint part off.;
Sam and Hailey Designs "Itty Bitty Christmas" (JB00241) found at PaperThreads.com

That is my niece. She is modeling a neck scarf my mom gave her - lol. She is a ham.

I plan to journal on the blank piece of pink. can't decide if I want to make that whole part solid pink or just take off the word piece. The word piece just seems out of place.

Here's the link to my page:
http://www.visualdesignsbychris.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=42&pictureid=539

I used the notebook paper from the challenge file, plus CD00499 Wedding Words 2 for the "Smiles" title, and baby feet circles from the Cricut "New Arrival" cartridge.

The printed paper is from a package I got from Chris as a prize for one of the Anniversary challenges. Since it's only 8x8", but I was determined to use it anyway, I had to cut diagonal strips from the centers of 2 different sheets to get the 2" wide border.
