I have already heard requests for the new sketch. You guys are going to keep me on the ball! I am so glad that you had fun in January and are eager to participate in the Feb. Challenge. Once again, I have choosen a sketch by Becky Fleck of Pagemaps. (http://www.pagemaps.com/) Check out her site, she has sketches to get you out of almost any creative block. Chris has again provided us with a few goodies to help us complete this page. This month she even encourages us to use the pen tool. I need a little help with this one. You will have until February 28, to complete this challenge. Feel free to change the sketch to fit your individual page. Please post your completed layout in this forum for everyone to enjoy. Can't wait to see them all.

Well, I have never used the pen tool before, so I just played a bit, and it worked out okay, but I do want to explore it more, when I have more time. Now, for a funny on this, Rosalie will recognize most of the elements with this page, LOL. We belong to a small group in our community, and had a page kit swap, this was her contribution, the paper, flowers, ribbon, and the brad thing. This is my take on the challenge, thanks so much for the files, Chris, and thanks for the challenge Rosalie.

I have used a gel pen with the multi purpose tool in my knk element. In order for this to work you have to take the pen apart. I think there was a utube video on this. If not I know a designer at paperthreads "Eddita (http://accentsbyeddita.blogspot.com/)" has it on her blog. On the left side under quick and dirty tuts for the knk. If this is not ok to post, please delete. Hope it helps.

Here is mine for the Feb. sketch challenge. I used the pen tool to draw the lines on the bracket box. I also used Chris's flower (except the center is a button), triangular tab and the bracket box. I also welded the title myself. My butterfly in the upper left is 3D.
Thanks for another great challenge. I am really enjoying these sketches. It is really making me think outside the box.

What machine are you using? Maybe some other members can jump in here. I have the craft robo and it came with a green holder that look similar to the blade holders, except, it does not have a blade, but a place to slide a pen into. You can draw designs, instead of cutting them.
I am really not familiar with what options are available with other machines.

Cricut has markers that fit into the blade housing.
Knk has a multi-use tool that you can fit pens into and you have to change it in the software.
I know my Craft Robo also has the same type of situation.
It is just the matter of replacing your blade with a pen, reducing the pressure and drawing your shape!
Enjoy!

Don't forget the KNK came with a pen holder and it has the pen setting in plot defaults or cut>plot>change tool to pen>cut. Mine gives me a error of pen tool click OK and it draws.

Ok, I finally got this one finished, and OMG I have to work tomorrow, what am I doing up so late??? The thing I'm most proud of is the title that I welded and outlined and cut out, took me a long time to get it like I wanted, I'm such a beginner at this stuff! I wigged out on the pen drawing, just didn't think I had a brain for it, so rick rack works doesn't it? The printed papers are from Bo Bunny Shabby Princess line, using up my older stuff. The pic is of me and my granddaughter in 05, as I was cleaning up my scrapbook room I found this old picture, and I thought it's good enough and already 5x7. Enjoy.

Here is actually the right side, but it is the sketch

I have the new Gazelle, which is wonderful cause it lets you use pretty much any pen you want to in the holder. I used a zig pen and just put the lines inside where the paper would be cut. With the funtime program, where you see the stuff on the page is where the gazelle cuts it, so I told it to trace the lines first, then I cut out around it.
Thanks for all the compliments.

Here's my list of supplies:
Pagemaps sketch
DCWV cardstock
Bo Bunny papers
Bazzill Rick Rack
Beloved Keepsakes title
Chris's Durnan's journal block and tab
Lil Davis designs Chipboard
Stickabilities stickers
I used the pen tool on my craft robo, but I used a plain ordinary ball point. I am not satisfied, I will keep looking for a pen that fits the holder.

Used the pen tool on the title, journaling block, and for the zigzag on the strip. Used a black glaze pen. The strips are a light blue, but doesn't show up well in photo.
