March Card Swap (based on Sketch Challenge) [Archive]

I am organizing and hosting a card swap! Any takers? Depending on how many are interested, we would either make a card for the number of people playing or a set number. Your cards should all be the same and all be based on the March Sketch Challenge.

The way the other Card Swaps that I am in go like this: if there are 10 people per group, then you would make 10 cards (all the same), mail them to me (I would think they should be due by the end of March), include a stamped return addressed envelope (make sure you include enough postage to cover your return package). Once I received them all, you will get one of each design back.

I'm currently in a Monthly card swap with a WONDERFUL group of ladies from NC....we have a "theme" each month, (Easter, Girl's Birthday, Male Birthday, etc), and I've received some GREAT cards from this swap! And the ideas that you get are priceless! I sometimes hate to use them because I want to keep them as a pattern for later!

Also, do you just pick on of the files or do you have a file that you would like for us to use??

I will start thinking of a card for one of these...

Also, do you have more details, like matted, embellished?? I am heavy into card swapping, so I am not sure if you will have more details in place. :)

I will PM my address to those that join the swap.
Base your card on the March Card Sketch Challenge...as far as matted or embellished, that is up to you, all I ask is that each person do their best and that the submitted cards are of the quality that you, yourself would like to receive. I think if we leave the inside blank, then people could customize their own...unless of course, your card "needs" the inside verse!

I think I will close out sign ups for this on Wednesday, March 18th.

If no one else joins, then maybe we can each do 2 different cards (2x4=8 cards) so that it is worth it. What do you think?

Yes, Chris, they will be due to me by the end of the month and then I will swap and send them back out ASAP in case anyone has created any Easter cards! C'mon and join us...12 cards doesn't take too long....especially when you are using your cutter!!

Welcome Jess and thanks for joining! Since you are a "seasoned" card swapper, I'm looking forward to seeing your cards! Questions are the only way to know, so don't worry about that! I'll let everyone know a final count tonite when I return from bowling!

Due date will be April 4th...and that's the date they need to be in my hands! That way I can get them swapped out on Sunday and back in the mail on Monday!

Hey Chris....have you decided? Are you going to join? C'mon...that'll put us at 7...and that's enough! Most card packs come in either 8 or 10...I know I always make a prototype (that I usually end up giving my best friend)...7 cards....just 7 little cards....:D

So if someone wants my spot they can do it. But I will due it otherwise. :-)

So now I have to look at my calendar and mark next Thurs for card making.
Oh I am excited!

And I bought some distressed stickles today. I HAD to use the 40% off coupon from Michael's hate for the printing to go to waste. I, also, bought my son his easter basket items. Our easter bunny packs a crafty basket comes filled with craft kits to do throughout the summer break. instead of tons of candy. The grandma's make up for it. :-)

Oh yeah I am excited. I will check tomorrow to make sure I am on the list!

Oh yea...you're in!!! :) (see a little begging does help!)

OK...everyone needs to make 7 cards (basically all the same) using the March Card Sketch as inspiration. There are no "requirements"...(matting, embellishing, etc), I just ask that everyone do their best! Everyone needs to have them TO ME by April 4th; please include return postage and your address...I'll swap them out and mail them back. I'll PM everyone with my snail mail address!

Go ahead and send in all 7, that way I don't have to keep track of which cards to send to who...I can just make 7 piles (one of each card) and re-mail them! THANKS!

I'm from VA, but my mom was born and raised in New Bern, NC, and I visit (and scrap) with my cousin who lives in New Bern as often as I can! That's how I got involved in the card swap and I also do the NYOB club with them!

I LOVE cards...my family KNOWS that if I give them anything other than a handmade card for birthdays, they are on my $#!% list!! So hosting is no problem!!! (Plus since ScrapGoods went out of business, my mailman is having package delivery withdrawals!)

Trust me, at Christmas time, I had to give my UPS guy a Christmas present since he delivered so much!!! He even waves to me now when he sees me on the road...sad, so sad!

We had a great Man in Brown a long time ago, he knew everybody and what kind of car they drove. Many times I found a box in my van...saved him a trip out in the country.
I mailed my cards off today, but don't know if they will get far...raging blizzard across most of the state today. It's snowing and blowing here, but not amounting to alot, except it's sticking to the hwys and roads and they are in bad shape, I'm not going anywhere that's for sure. All of western SD got hit hard with snow, I imagine the interstate is still closed 2/3 of the way across the state.

I love all the scrap items they sell here. And they don't sell it for scrapbooks. More geared toward gift wrapping and presents. Yes.. with nice cotton ribbon.

Plus they sell all sorts of products here that are made in Japan.. and boy they are so much cheaper than in the states. Things like Tombow, Gelly Roll pens, Copics and Kokuyo.

I can not wait to get everyones swaps either. ;)

Right now they are about $3.50 with the Yen rate. The price goes down when the yen rate goes up.. it has been going up slowly.

My friends last year bought the sketch around 2.50 -3.00 a marker... I am waiting for the yen rate to go up to buy more.

The price is for Sketch.

The price for ciao is about 2.50 a marker.

I will be living here till 2011, so everyone has time. :D

You know those Signo White Gel Pens that are so darn expensive in the states...
