I am canning today. Not feeling on top of the world, but can't let the strawberries and apples and raspberry go bad. I am making Sundae in a Jar it calls for a 1/3 of a cup of chocolate liquer. I am only canning one batch I believe it will be dangerous to have in the house otherwise. So question is what would you do with the rest of the chocolate liqueur. Any recipes or ideas? I could just make chocolate milk with it, but maybe you have a better idea? This week I have the goods to make homemade ice cream in ziploc bags when friends come over. Maybe there could be a grownup version hmmm. Well off I go to start todays canning adventures. Have a wonderful day! Chris

Yum, Sounds so good.

I want to know how to make the strawberry stuff you eat on icecream. Love that.

I just went to my brothers, We both learned to can this past week. Isnt that funny.

So we traded pickles. I made bread and butter, he had dill. Hey, that works.

Im thinking of going and picking blue berrys and making some thing with those.

I need to run t walmart and get some pint jars to make salsa. The maters in the garden are about ready, and the peppers and oninons are as well.

I have not found a salsa recipe with the right ph that I like yet. Let me know if you come up with one.

Lori, I am worried jars will burst from the altitude here to there. Sounds like you'll just have to come here :)

Hmm, Chris--I don't can, but I'd be happy to taste test the sundae in a jar grownup version--and no prob with altitude changes--!! But--just a thought--I'm wondering if the alcohol from the liqueur will stop the ice cream for freezing--so you'd have more of like a milk shake than ice cream? I know we did something like that with a liqueur in our ice cream freezer--and it wouldn't get solid--just really mushy. But I'd be happy to taste test anyway--mushy or not!

very true Sherri. It is actually just the sauce and not the ice cream as well. :) just the topping. prettty yum. strawberry raspberry and chocolate liqueur. :-)
