Okay so last night I thought I would try another batch before the can went bad. It wouldn't rise. And the consistancy of the foamy stuff when spraying wasn't the same as when first opened. This is good to know. And this batch sat out in the heat and turned yellow whereas the firstbatch are all still white. This leads me to believe I will need to paint the white batch just in case it turns yellow. I would hate to have the perfect frosting job and have the fakery cupcake turn yellow.

Please note where it says use gloves!!! Use gloves. Yeesh that stuff is sticky. Just my experienced word of advise.
And you may ask why is this taking me so many days? Well I am having to do it in between life, files and the great heat. :) but it's fun to do something at my own pace.

Now I have to figure out what kind of light spackle for the wilton cake tips. I bought the cheap box with the coupon to try. Any input on spackle. I have to mix in paint coloring. This is gonna be a gloppPy mess. :)

Hope your having a great day!
Enjoy! Chris

When I made these the light weight spackle worked great. I also used the fake icing (2 egg whites, 2 teas of lemon juice and 3 cups of powered sugar) and that works great too. It's suppose to be good for a long time, it's what they use in the bakeries. Your first batch came out looking perfect, just the right height.

I also found it was easier to leave the frosting white and paint after I frosted. That way you can change colors easier and no waste.

So what if they turn yellow...there IS yellow cake! ROFLOL I'm sorry, I couldn't resist!

That's a shame about the second batch! Did you use the same can of foam stuff? I wonder if you have to use it all at once for it to be effective!? That's weird that it didn't rise! It would probably be a lot of work but maybe with the Spackle, you could fix them. Just a thought...

PS----those look like MY REAL cupcakes! ROFLOL

Thank you Linda for the possibles. It has been a fun lesson in trial and error. and something new to try. My son keeps rolling his eyes at me. hehe.

I need to make some fake cake pops this would not make him happy :-)

Sue. they look short and thick like gluten free ones to. They never rise. I did use the same can of stuff just a few days later. it says intended for one time use on it as well. I am wondering if I can't fill on top of these some and then smooth with a plastic knife. Maybe use them for test frostings.

Enjoy!Chris
